Biden’s New Deputy White Home Director Instructed Protesters To ‘Shut Down’ ICE – ‘It Doesn’t Have To Exist’

President Biden’s new deputy director for political strategy and outreach has said there is no need for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) to exist and encouraged protesters to “shut it down.”

Natalie Montelongo, who tweeted about her new role late last month, made the comments in a series of tweets in 2018.

One message was in response to anti-ICE protests raging in Portland.

“If you’re looking for a way to help – look up your nearest ICE office and shut-it-down,” Montelongo tweeted on June 21, 2018, according to Fox News.

A union that represents ICE claimed an “angry mob” had “trapped” employees inside the building during the protest.

“Protesters surrounded the ICE building beginning June 17, after news reports about the federal family separation policy,” the Willamette Week reported at the time.

“The protesters briefly shut down the ICE building by blocking the entrances and exits, harassing employees as they arrived and attempted to leave,” they continue.

That is the same group of “protesters” Montelongo was ‘looking to help.’

Biden’s Deputy White House Director Natalie Montelongo Wants To Abolish ICE

In a tweet prior to that, Natalie Montelongo’s message was similar to the ‘abolish’ or ‘shut down’ ICE far-left radicals in Biden’s Democrat Party.

On May 10th, 208, she took aim at the administration of former President Donald Trump.

“This administration’s actions are not motivated by public safety concerns – they’re terrorizing immigrant communities,” Montelongo wrote. “#ICE didn’t exist 15 years ago, it doesn’t have to exist now.”

News of Biden’s new deputy director for political strategy and outreach engaging in such inflammatory rhetoric led to criticism from journalist Andy Ngo, who covers violence at Antifa protests.

“It’s been revealed that [Montelongo] … encouraged rioters to siege the Portland [ICE] facility in 2018,” Ngo tweeted. “At the time, I reported from the ground how Antifa [and] others blocked the exits, trapping staff inside.”

End Private Detention Centers

Montelongo has previously worked in the Obama administration, as national political director for Julian Castro’s failed 2020 presidential campaign, and as political director for Hillary for America.

The White House did not respond to a Fox News inquiry regarding Montelongo’s comments.

But it would certainly be interesting if she still holds the same views as those who heckled President Biden at a speech late last month calling for him to shut down ICE and “end private detention centers” for illegal immigrants.

There were over 172,000 border apprehensions in March with an equal number projected once April’s tally is posted.

There are a record number of unaccompanied children crossing the border and roughly 1,000 illegal immigrants escaping into the U.S. every day.

Hundreds of thousands of people are currently being encountered at the border and President Biden’s HHS Secretary says the detention centers are currently “at capacity.”

Tom Homan, who served as the executive associate director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the Obama-Biden administration, previously explained the importance of ICE.

“Let’s be frank on what ICE does,” Homan said during a House Oversight Committee hearing in 2019. “ICE last year took [enough] opioids off the street of this country that could have killed every man, woman and child in the United States twice.”

“They’ve arrested thousands of sexual predators that preyed on children. They rescued thousands of children who were victims of predators,” Homan testified. “They’ve arrested hundreds of women who were victims of sex trafficking.”

“In my 34 years, I’ve never seen such hate toward a law enforcement agency in my life,” he added.

The Biden administration just hired someone who shares that hatred and believes ICE should be shut down.
