Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, spoke on Saturday about what the real goal of the impeachment efforts against former President Donald Trump is.
Hirono reveals the true goal of impeachment
When Hirono appeared on MSNBC, he said the real aim of the impeachment trial against Trump was to hold him accountable for the "violent insurrection" and prevent him from running again for office.
"It is very clear, Tiffany, that we need not only hold the President accountable through impeachment, but also move on to passing a COVID relief bill," she said.
“And we can do both. Much of that depends on Mitch McConnell's willingness to do what's right for the American people, ”she continued. "So here we are, Tiffany. I know we can do both. All it takes is the will of the Republicans at this point."
"Whether 17 of them will convict this president of a violent uprising in the Capitol remains to be seen," added Hirono. “I think some of them will, but I don't know we'll be 17. But that does not mean that we should not hold this President accountable, and that does not mean that we should not, and that it does not prevent him from ever seeking an elected office again, and that only requires a majority vote. Klobuchar Glockenspiel In
It happened when Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) also claimed that Americans would "receive more and more evidence of Trump's alleged insurrection over the next several weeks."
"I firmly believe that we can deal with this impeachment process and juggle what we have to do just like the American people," said Klobuchar. “Get the Secretary for Homeland Security through. We just had the Capitol uprising. Confirm for Joe Biden's cabinet. And yes, get people the help they need. That's what next month is about. "

“I think we'll keep getting more and more evidence over the next few weeks as if it wasn't enough that he sent an angry mob to the mall to break into the Capitol, didn't try to stop it, and a cop it was killed. I don't really know what else you need to know, ”she added.
"The facts were there," continued Klobuchar. "We saw it right there on the platform during the inauguration as you could still see the spray paint on the bottom of many of the pillars."
