In the past two days, the House's impeachment managers have launched a devastating case against Donald Trump. Much of the success of this case was video footage.
A new video of the riot came out on Wednesday and it was pretty damned. However, this is unlikely to change the minds of Republican voters who watch Fox News. The network was cut off shortly before the film was shown.
The Daily Beasts Justin Baragona writes: "Fox News is now ahead of the impeachment process in which Democrats are currently rolling in terrifying, never-before-seen footage of the insurgent uprisings for them to air The Five, which now includes Jeanine Pirro. "

Jimmy Kimmel weighed in too and tweeted: "This impeachment process (which is incredibly powerful) runs live on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN etc etc – guess which "news" channel is not broadcasting it? "

Fox competitor Rachel Maddow had an interesting theory about why some Republican senators were so affected by the footage. Regarding James Lankford's reaction, she tweeted:
"It occurs to me now that those of us who covered this story and the public who watched it have seen some (but certainly not all) of this footage before. GOP Senators, mostly or exclusively Consuming conservative media may be seeing it for the first time. Remember especially because Fox News Channel didn't attend the hearing today. There will be a split between GOP senators who are watching all this stuff and their grassroots constituents seeing their news today like culture war material about the NBA or the war on Christmas or whatever. "
Thinking of it particularly because Fox News Channel has not been taking the trial today.
There will be a disconnect between GOP Senators seeing all this stuff, and their base voters whose news today was, like, culture war stuff about the NBA or the War on Christmas or whatever.
