Former Top Trump aide Steve Bannon's podcast was permanently suspended from Twitter and torn from YouTube after implications that FBI Director Christopher Wray and senior government infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci, beheaded and their heads should be placed on pike outside the EU White House.
These comments from Bannon on Thursday came after asking for a clearance certificate in a federal criminal case accusing him of defrauding donors to a nonprofit group allegedly building a wall on the southern United States border $ 5 million is free.
A spokeswoman for Bannon said he had not proposed actually beheading Fauci and Wray, but rather spoke metaphorically, referring to the bloody politics of Tudor-era England. She also said he "never called for violence of any kind".
A spokesman for the district attorney in the southern borough of New York declined to comment Thursday night when asked if he would ask a judge in Manhattan federal court to either revoke Bannon's loan or issue a gag order against him.
Bannon made the remarks about Wray and Fauci on his War Room: Pandemic podcast when discussing a hypothetical second term for President Donald Trump.
Bannon led Trump's 2016 campaign and served as Senior Advisor to the White House until Trump fired him in August 2017.
Bannon said during the podcast, "Second term begins with firing Wray and firing Fauci."
"Now I really want to go a step further, but I know that the President is a kind and good man," Bannon continued.
"I'd actually like to go back to the old days of Tudor England, I'd put heads on pike, right, I'd put them on the two corners of the White House to warn the federal bureaucrats. They also get you with the program or you're gone – time to stop playing games. "
"Blow it all up, put Ric Grenell in as temporary head of the FBI today, that will make you shine, right," Bannon said.
Grenell is a die-hard Trump loyalist who served as the former acting director of national intelligence and ambassador to Germany.
Bannon's co-host Jack Maxey then said, "You know what, Steve, just yesterday was the anniversary of the hanging of two Tories in Philadelphia that were Quaker businessmen who, if you will, lived with the British while they were Philadelphia was occupied. "
"These people were hanged. We used to do that with traitors," said Maxey.
Bannon replied, "That's how you won the revolution. Nobody wants to talk about it."
"The [American] Revolution wasn't a garden party, was it?" Said Bannon. "It was a civil war. It was a civil war."
Twitter said it banned Bannon's account over comments on "War Room".
A Twitter spokesman said in a statement, "The @WarRoomPandemic account has been permanently banned for violating the Twitter rules, in particular our guidelines on the glorification of violence. "
YouTube removed the episode, but other War Room episodes are still available.
Alex Joseph, a spokesman for YouTube, owned by Google, said, "We removed this video because it violated our guidelines against incitement to violence. We will continue to be vigilant as we enforce our guidelines in the post-election period . "
YouTube has a three-hit policy before an account is closed. While the Bannon show's channel is still available, the strike is temporarily turning off uploads for at least a week due to this incident, according to YouTube.
Bannon's spokeswoman said in a statement emailed: "Mr. Bannon has never, never wanted, and has never asked for violence of any kind."
"Mr. Bannon's comment was clearly metaphorical. He previously played a clip of the trial of St. Thomas More and alluded to this historic event in Tudor England for rhetorical reasons," said the spokeswoman.
"Mr Bannon has been openly critical of FBI Director Chris Wray for weeks and has called for his dismissal for failing to examine and access Hunter Biden's hard drive. It has been in the possession of Director Wray since December 2019," she said.
"In addition, Mr. Bannon endorsed White House comments calling for the immediate dismissal of Dr. Fauci."
In a 2016 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bannon compared himself to the famous Prime Minister of England's King Henry VIII, who beheaded him.
"I'm Thomas Cromwell in the Tudor Court," Bannon said in this interview.
Bannon was arrested on August 20 off the Connecticut coast aboard a 150,000 yacht owned by the Chinese billionaire
Bannon and three associates, Timothy Shea, Brian Kolfage, and Andrew Badolato, are accused of defrauding donors when they raised more than $ 25 million to build a wall along the southern border for nonprofit group We Build the Wall to build.
Bannon has pleaded not guilty in the case.
He is free for a $ 5 million bond backed by $ 1.75 million in cash or real estate while awaiting his trial, which is slated for next May.
Acting US attorney Audrey Strauss said in a statement following the indictment against the men: "The defendants defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors and used their interest in funding a border wall to raise millions of dollars under the false pretext that all of this Money would be spent on building it. "
"While the defendants repeatedly affirmed that Brian Kolfage, the founder and public face of We Build the Wall, would not receive a penny, the defendants secretly planned to transfer hundreds of thousands of dollars to Kolfage to fund his lavish lifestyle." "
Prosecutors say Bannon received a million dollars in money from We Build the Wall, and to divert that money he used a separate nonprofit that he had already started and whose supposed purpose was, "economic nationalism and American Promote sovereignty ".
