Following the verdict, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison told reporters: “The court has brought eight out of nine charges against the defendants for the murder of George Floyd, including the most serious of all four. This means that all four accused of murder and manslaughter will be on trial in the second degree. This is an important, positive step in the journey to justice for George Floyd, his family, our community, and Minnesota. We look forward to bringing the case to a Hennepin County jury before the prosecution. "
The trial of all former officers is scheduled for March 2021.
