Donald Trump has been relatively calm since the day he left the White House. Fortunately, the Twitter ban has prevented him from communicating easily with his supporters and dissenters.
But there have been two recent events that got Trump out of hiding. The first was Mitch McConnell's anti-Trump speech on Saturday. The other was the death of Rush Limbaugh today.
Tonight, the 45th President will be interviewing Newsmax, OAN and Fox News. During the Newsmax interview, host Greg Kelly asked Trump if he planned to run again in 2024.
"It's too early to say anything, but I see a lot of great polls out there, that's for sure, ”he replied. “We have tremendous support. I won't say yet (if I run again) but I have tremendous support and I look at poll numbers that go through the roof … I'm the only one who's going to be charged and my numbers are going up. "
Of course, there are a number of factors that could prevent Trump from running again. McConnell and other moderate Republicans don't seem interested in making him their standard bearer.
Additionally, Trump is at serious legal risk in Georgia and New York and could be in jail for the next year or so. He is also a morbidly obese 74 year old man whose health can be compromised at any time.
